Live Your Life To The Fullest

“Life is a preparation for the future, and the best preparation for the future is to live as if there were none.”

~ Albert Einstein

Do you ever feel like you are living a life of mundane existence? Here are 10 steps to give new energy and happiness to your life and help you live your life to the fullest.

1) Decide That You Want To Live This Year To The Fullest.

Everything starts with a decision. Dedicate your mind and your heart to making this year the best one yet.

2) Fill Your Life With Things That Make You Happy.

Are you so busy making a living that you’ve forgotten how to have fun? Have you prioritized your career, your bills and the raising of your children to the point that you’ve gotten away from doing things that make you happy. What are the things that truly make you happy? Have you become so driven in your responsibilities that you don’t even know how to be happy anymore? Spend some time giving this some thought and then make some dedicated action towards doing activities that make you smile and fill your spirit with happiness.

“Happiness, not in another place but this place…not for another hour, but this hour.”

~ Walt Whitman

3) Write Out A Description Of How Your Best Life Would Look.

The mind always reproduces the image you have for yourself. Get out some paper and make a detailed description how you’d like to see your life unfold over the next twelve months. Detail images for your health, spiritual growth, your marriage, your relationship with your children, etc. This can be in paragraph form or a list of bullet points but strive to create a detailed image. Look at this list often and one year from now, look back and see how by directing your thoughts had a powerful impact on reshaping your world.

“Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that makes you smile.”

~ Mark Twain

4) Try New Things. A fulfilled life needs to encompass new activities.

What are some things you’ve always wanted to do but have never gotten around to? Create a bucket list of things big and small, reasonable or farfetched but create a list of new things to do and set forth a plan of action to check these items off your list.

“Today is a reality, tomorrow’s a promise, and yesterday is history!”

~ Billy Blanks

5) Strive To Live A Regret Free Life

Similar to the point above, what are some of the things you know you’d regret that you haven’t done if you knew your life were coming to an end? Are there apologies you need to make? Are there phone calls you need to make? Are there people you need to go visit? Are there sights you want to see?

6) Keep Your Stress Levels Low.

What does stress management look like for you? Do you need to start exercising? Meditating? Eating healthier foods? Stop smoking or stop drinking alcohol excessively? Do you need to fill your mind with more positive thoughts and mindsets?

“What does waiting do? None of us are promised a tomorrow … We don’t always get a later.”

~ Jennifer L. Armentrout

7) Do Something You Are Proud Of.

Have you been meaning to go back to school and pursue higher levels of education? This year will be a great year to get the ball rolling towards this pursuit. If you don’t know what is required or how to get started, then call the school of your choice and ask to speak to their admissions department and I promise you they will be glad to guide you through the process of getting started. They’ll walk you through every step.

8) Spend Less Time On Your Phone And Less Time Watching Television.

Decrease these time wasters and use the time towards making this year the best year ever and to having a much fuller life.

“Tomorrow is not promised. Leave no apology or ‘I love you’ unsaid.”

~ Unknown

9) Help Others Enrich Their Lives.

How can you contribute to enriching the lives of others? I like to teach and share things that I have been fortunate to figure out about self-improvement and relationships. What can you contribute? The possibilities to how to help others is limitless. You just need to think about how you can make the world a better place for others and then put it into action.

“Today will never come again. Be a blessing. Be a friend. Encourage someone. Take time to care. Let your words heal, and not wound.”

~ Unknown

10) Avoid Negativity As Much As Possible.

This usually comes down to the kinds of people you associate with. Negative people will suck the life right out of you and they will quickly kill any hope you might have to live your life to the fullest. Spend time with happy people who enjoy life and want to live it to the fullest.

“Today is the tomorrow you were promised yesterday.”

~ Shaun Tan
